Global superstar Adele has recalled fond childhood memories of enjoying cockles at a Kent beach.

The chart-topper, who recently released a new single, says she used to tuck into the seafood when she visited Whitstable.

The 33-year-old says she headed to the coastal town as a youngster on a number of occasions.

Adele spoke about her seaside visits when she appeared in a video made for British Vogue.

"Last time I had cockles must have been, I was definitely under 10," she said.

"We used to go to Whitstable sometimes, down to the beach.

"When I say a beach though I obviously mean a very British beach with pebbles and all that - but they were yummy and very nostalgic."
