Thousands of visitors will be filling Sandwich this weekend for the climax of the town’s annual festival.

There is a full programme planned, including favourites such as the motorcycle meet, classic car show, barn dance and duck race.

Take the opportunity to look round the White Mill Rural Heritage Centre in Ash Road, or perhaps join the Sandwich Local History Society for a guided walk around the Cinque Port.

If you fancy learning stilt walking or juggling, a circus workshop is taking place at the Quay Green and owners can show off their prized pet in the fun dog show.

Music lovers can enjoy watching local performers at free concerts around the town. Shoppers are also in for a treat, with stalls at St Peter’s Church garden on Saturday, August 24, at the Quay Green on Bank Holiday Monday and an Italian market in Market Street on Sunday, August 25.

Many of the town’s shops, cafes and restaurants will be joining in the fun, with special offers and extended opening hours during the weekend.
