Maidstone's Ramblin' Man Fair at Mote Park cancelled for 2022 but will be back in 2023

The famous Ramblin' Man Fair music festival in Maidstone has been postponed again - despite vowing to return this year.

Billed as a classic rock festival, the event was due to take place this summer in Mote Park but will not be going ahead as planned.

Ramblin' Man Fair was first staged in 2015 and over the years it has seen headline slots by the likes of Whitesnake, The Cult, ZZ Top and Foreigner. Previous promoter Spirit of Rock were hit hard and firm by the loss of revenue since the pandemic and went into voluntary liquidation last year.

Movie and entertainment professional Jake Seal took over as promoter last year.

A statement from the new organisers said: "It is with a heavy heart that we announce the postponement of Ramblin Man Fair 2022. We would like to thank everyone for their patience whilst we have been busy weighing up all possible options.

"But we will ramble again on the sacred grounds of Mote Park, as we have booked our date with Maidstone Council for 2023. We have some amazing headliners ready to rock our stages, which we hope to reveal to you all very soon. The festival will be bigger and better than before, with an exciting line already coming together."

The first artist announcement for next year is due to be revealed in six weeks and all tickets from this year will be automatically rolled over.

The statement, posted on the festival's Facebook page, added: "We apologise for the extended silence over the past months during our transition from Spirit of Rock which has taken longer than expected. However, we would like to take this opportunity to stress that communication will become a priority moving forwards. RMF is more than just a festival, it’s a community which has been built over the years, and we will continue to honour that fine tradition."
