Fans of the West End have a very last chance to snap up tickets for the hugely popular musical The King and I at the London Palladium this September.

Set in 1860s Bangkok, the musical tells the story of the unconventional and tempestuous relationship that develops between the King of Siam and Anna, a British schoolteacher.

The decision to extend the multiple Tony award-winning Lincoln Center Theater production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's The King and I for an additional three weeks was due to huge popular demand.

A total of five additional matinees had been added to the London Palladium performance schedule on Thursdays. Only two shows are left (September 20 and 27) and there are tickets available from £37.50.

The musical features the three original Broadway leading actors reprising their starring roles - namely Kelli O'Hara as Anna, Ken Watanabe as The King and Ruthie Ann Miles as Lady Thiang.

According to organisers, this is the very last opportunity West End audiences will have to see those Broadway stars reprise their original roles on the London stage.
