Van driver dies after crashing into bushes near Cranbrook

A van driver has died after crashing into a hedgerow.

The A262 Goudhurst Road was closed after the white Peugeot Bipper panel van crashed at around 5.20pm yesterday evening.

The vehicle was travelling from Goudhurst towards the A229, before it left the road near Wilsley Pound roundabout.

Air ambulance crews escorted the local driver, who was in his 30s, to a London hospital, where he later died.

His next of kin have been informed.

Police are now appealing for witnesses, including anyone with dashcam footage, to come forward.
