Young man attacked by gang

A MAN in his 20s was badly beaten up after being chased and set upon by a gang of four five other young men in Tunbridge Wells.

The attack took place in Goods Station Road during the early hours of Sunday morning. It is not known if any weapons were used but the victim was taken to the Kent and Sussex Hospital.

A Kent police spokeswoman said: "His injuries were serious, but not life threatening. He has not yet been able to talk to officers about what happened, but we hope to have a description of his assailants before too long.

"Meanwhile, checks are being made on closed circuit television footage and other inquiries are being carried out in an effort to identify those responsible."
