Two women die in road tragedies

POLICE have appealed for information after two women died in separate accidents on Kent's roads.

An elderly woman driver died following a collision on the outskirts on Tunbridge Wells last Friday afternoon.

The collision happened at around 3.30pm in Langton Road, Rusthall, and involved two vehicles.

Fire crews arrived first on the scene and freed the drivers. One of the them, an 68-year-old woman, later died at the Kent and Sussex Hospital in Tunbridge Wells.

The road was closed for about nine hours while Kent Police’s serious collision investigation unit carried out an investigation at the scene.

The other tragedy happened when a woman pedestrian was struck by a car in the village of Dunton Green, near Sevenoaks.

Police say the woman, thought to be in her 60s, stepped into the road at about 7.45pm last Friday. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
