Police hunt handbag snatcher

A WOMAN in her 40s was pushed and suffered a graze to her leg when a robber grabbed her handbag.

Police say it happened as the victim was walking home from Tunbridge Wells town centre along Upper Grosvenor Road into Sandhurst Road.

As she reached her home she was approached by the robber who asked her for money so he could use the phone.

Police spokeswoman Anne McCarthy said: "The woman told him she didn't have any and the man then pushed her, grabbed her handbag and ran off."

The incident happened between 12.45am and 1am on Saturday, February 18. The man is described as white and around 5ft 11in tall. He was wearing a short bomber jacket and jeans.
