Pair questioned by police over man's death

Detectives are still questioning a man in his 40s and a woman in her 30s who were arrested after the body of a man was found lying in a street.

Police say a post mortem carried out on the man, who was in his 40s and believed to live locally, revealed that he died as a result of a collision with a vehicle. They are treating his death as suspicious.

Officers were called to Mount Ephraim, Tunbridge Wells, between Church Road and Bishop’s Down, just after 3am on Sunday where they found the man who has suffered multiple injuries. He was declared dead at the Kent and Sussex Hospital.

Officers from Kent Polic’s serious collision investigation unit would like anyone who was in Mount Ephraim in the early hours of Sunday to get in touch.

They would also like to hear from anyone who knows of a car or vehicle that has unexplained damage to it.

Anyone with information should contact Kent Police on 01622 798538.
