Watch moment herd of deer cross road between Lamberhurst and Tunbridge Wells to 'check out Christmas lights'

A herd of deer crossed the road in front of a driver to check out the street's Christmas lights.

The animals were spotted in Furnace Road, between Lamberhurst and Tunbridge Wells.

Jamie Gaiger, who captured the amazing scene, at around 10pm, said: "Lovely surprise on the way home.

"This is a quarter of what I experienced. It was beautiful."

The short clip shows the driver stopping in the road before at least nine deer venture across it to look at lights the other side.

After a couple of seconds of exploring the group seemed to get frightened and make a dash back to where they came from last Sunday.

The video was seen by hundreds of people online, and brought a smile to many faces.

One woman commented: "Amazing. I'm going to show my little one this in the morning."

While another said: "What a wonderful privilege to witness. They're checking out the Christmas lights.

A third person joked: "But where is Rudolph?"
