House roof goes up in flames

FIRE has ripped through the roof of a four-bedroom house in a Kent town.

At its height 50 firefighters were called to tackle the blaze at the detached property in Culverden Down, Tunbridge Wells.

The fire started shortly after 10.30am on Thursday morning. It has now been brought under control.

Parts of the first floor collapsed as a result of the fire.
