CCTV images released after Tunbridge Wells robbery left man with serious facial injuries

A man was left with serious facial injuries after a gang attacked him for tobacco.

New CCTV images have now been released after the victim, who is in his 20s, was abused by three young men while walking along Mount Pleasant Road, Tunbridge Wells.

The incident happened on Sunday, August 15.

He was then followed into Calverley Grounds where they punched and kicked him before going through his pockets and removing a lighter and tobacco.

It happened just before midnight.

The victim managed to run away and alert the police but suffered serious facial injuries and required specialist treatment.

A teenage boy was arrested last year in connection with the incident and was released pending further investigation.

PC Lily MacKay, of Tonbridge CID, said: "We issued a previous appeal last September but have since recovered clearer images of a person who may be able to assist with our enquiries.

"I would urge anyone who recognises him to contact our appeal line."
