Cyclist taken to hospital after crash on A228 Branbridges Road in Beltring near Paddock Wood

A cyclist has been taken to hospital after a crash involving a car and bike.

The A228 Branbridges Road in Beltring was partially blocked due to a collision.

It happened shortly after 12pm between B2160 Maidstone Road roundabout (Hop Farm) and Beltring Road.

The crash involved a bike and a car, and impacted motorists between East Peckham and Paddock Wood.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene of the incident.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Kent Police was called to a report of a collision between a car and a bicycle at the Hop Farm Roundabout, Whetsted Road, Paddock Wood at 12.15pm today.

"Officers attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service and the cyclist was taken to a local hospital."
