Driver taken to hospital after car overturns in Brenchley near Tonbridge

A driver was trapped in her car which ended up on its roof following a crash in a country lane.

Police, paramedics and fire crews were sent to Horsmonden Road in Brenchley, near Tonbridge, at around 10.30am, with fire crews having to use hydraulic equipment to get the woman out of the car.

A Kent Fire and Rescue spokesman said: "Four fire engines attended and crews used hydraulic cutting equipment to create space and allow for the driver to be released from the car.

"She was left in the care of SECAmb. Kent Police also attended."

The woman suffered minor injuries and was taken to Tunbridge Wells Hospital.

A police spokesman said the road was temporarily closed while arrangements were made to recover the car.

They added: "Officers, Kent Fire and Rescue Service and South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the scene where the driver was treated for injuries.

"She has been taken to a local hospital for further medical attention."

An ambulance spokesman said: "Ambulance crews attended the scene and one person was assessed and treated before being taken to Tunbridge Wells Hospital."
