Student killed crossing road was 'loving person'

KENT Police have confirmed the name of a teenage pedestrian who died while crossing the A26 between Tunbridge Wells and Tonbridge.

She was 16-year-old Natalie Trowell, of Franks Hollow Road, Bidborough, near Tunbridge Wells. Natalie was a student and lived with her family.

She was collision with a silver Skoda car near the junctions with Harland Way and Bidborough Ridge.

In a statement her parents said: "Natalie was a most wonderful, kind, energetic, beautiful and loving person.

"The whole family are struggling to come to terms with what has happened and are totally devastated. She was a devoted daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, aunt and cousin who will always be loved and missed".

An investigation into the incident carried out by Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit has revealed that a single deck bus was pulling away from the bus stop near the location of the collision.

Officers would like to hear from anyone on that bus who may have seen anything leading up to the incident or any other witnesses to the collision.

An inquest has been opened and adjourned.
