Little Venice Country Park in Yalding sees flood warning removed

Residents at the Little Venice Country Park in Yalding can breathe a sigh of relief after a flood warning was removed this morning.

The village once again found itself under water this week after heavy rains saw rivers break their banks.

But this morning the Environment Agency said the warning for the Little Venice Country Park and Marina was being dropped as the "situation is improving and no further flooding is expected in this area".

However, it added: "River levels have now fallen below the level expected to cause property flooding. Further rainfall is forecast from Sunday and into next week.

"We continue to monitor the situation. Our incident response staff are out on the ground checking and clearing any blockages and debris from rivers.

"Please remain aware of your local situation and avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses."
