Accident boy 'stable' in hospital

A BOY of four was seriously injured after being in collision with by a car in Tonbridge High Street.

Police were called to the incident just after 6.10pm on Sunday after a blue Ford Focus car turning out of Medway Wharf Road into the High Street was in collision with pedestrians in the road.

Two children and the driver of the car were taken to Kent and Sussex Hospital at Tunbridge Wells. The driver and the boy involved were suffering from shock.

The four-year-old, from the Orpington area, was admitted with serious injuries and later transferred to a hospital in London. His condition is described as serious but stable.

The road was closed until 8.15pm while emergency services dealt with the incident.
