Ramsgate FC head coach Lloyd Blackman on the 3-1 defeat to Sevenoaks Town

Lloyd Blackman wants a response from his Ramsgate players at Three Bridges on Saturday.

The head coach admitted Rams got what they deserved last weekend as they slumped to a 3-1 home defeat against Sevenoaks.

Blackman said: “We didn’t deserve anything from the game.

“It was a poor performance, individually and collectively. We looked flat and that was very surprising.

“I’ve got no complaints with the result. Sevenoaks were the better side, they looked sharper and hungrier and that was disappointing but maybe it’s a step back to go two steps forward.”

Ramsgate had gone seven unbeaten but now they need to start a new run against a Bridges side four points below them in Bostik South East.

Blackman said: “It just goes to highlight that you can’t ever think you’ve achieved anything.

“Our focus is always on what’s ahead rather than what we’ve done and it was just a bad day at the office.

“Seven games unbeaten means nothing.

“You stay in the moment and this was a kick in the teeth but one we’ll use as motivation.

“I’m looking for a response. I’ve been loyal to this team but it’s a squad game and I’ll make changes if needed.”
