A young man has been lifted to safety from cliffs in Broadstairs.

Three appliances and the specialist line rescue crew from Kent Fire and Rescue service were called to the base of the cliffs at Botany Bay at 11.20pm on Saturday.

The man, who is in his early 20s, was placed on a spinal board before being winched to the top of the cliffs where he was met by ambulance crews.

His condition is not thought to be serious.
