Suspected arson at home in Wheatley Road, Ramsgate, sparks arrest of woman

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of arson following a fire at a house in the middle of the night.

Fire crews rushed to Wheatley Road in Ramsgate at just after 2.30am yesterday to deal with the blaze, which damaged the property, although no one was injured.

Detectives investigating the incident have now arrested a 34-year-old woman from Ramsgate in connection with the fire.

She has been released on bail until November 20.

Police are now asking for any witnesses to come forward.
