Ramsgate: Victim hit across head in robbery in Rydal Avenue

The victim of a robbery at a newsagents was hit across the head after being threatened with a hammer and baseball bat.

The shop in Rydal Avenue, Ramsgate was targeted by two men, who made threats and demanded cash.

It is believed the victim, who was standing behind the counter, was hit across the head but was able to raise an alarm shortly after 8.30pm on Wednesday.

The suspects then ran out of the shop with cash.

Both suspects were described as white men, one of whom was taller than the other.

One was wearing jeans, trainers and a black jacket with red or purple stripes. He had a blonde moustache, was wearing black gloves and had a black backpack.

The second man was described as wearing black jogging trousers with white stripes down the side, grey trainers, a black hooded coat and a coloured scarf.

Officers want to hear from anyone who witnessed the robbery or saw the men in the area leading up to, during or shortly after the incident.
