Stolen lead and copper found in van stuck in ice in Bond Street, Ramsgate

Police have arrested three suspected thieves after discovering stolen lead and copper in a van stuck in the ice.

Officers were called to Bond Street in Ramsgate at around 4.20am yesterday following reports of men on the roof of a building in the early hours.

They subsequently found suspected stolen copper and lead in a van in nearby Chatham Place, which was stranded due to the icy conditions.

A 43-year-old man from Broadstairs, a 21-year-old man of no fixed address and a 33-year-old man from London were arrested and later released on bail until March 4 while enquiries are ongoing.
