Two arrested on suspicion of child abduction in Ramsgate during police crackdown

Two people have been arrested on suspicion of child abduction after two missing teenagers were found at a property during a drugs bust.

The arrests were made in St Augustine's Road in Ramsgate during an operation yesterday by the community policing team who were carrying out enquiries in connection with drugs offences.

Police say they made two arrests on suspicion of child abduction and the vulnerable children are now being safeguarded.

A spokesman said: "Officers from the community policing team were carrying out enquiries in Ramsgate on Thursday in connection with drugs offences.

"They attended a property in St Augustine’s Road at around 4pm where they found four people and a quantity of suspected class A drugs.

"Among those at the property were two teenagers, reported missing from outside of the county.

"They were safeguarded and handed into the care of the relevant force."

Two men, aged 33 and 44, also at the address, were arrested in connection with the incident and remain in custody while enquiries continue.
