Road closed as man on roof taken unwell in Ramsgate

Concerns for the welfare of a man who reportedly climbed on a building’s roof prompted a heavy emergency response and the closure of a main route.

Traffic was diverted as multiple agencies descended on Margate Road in Ramsgate yesterday, with the individual handed into the care of paramedics.

huge emergency response closed a road after concern for a man who was ‘seen on a roof’.

Part of the road was shut yesterday while armed officers, police and paramedics worked to assist the man who was understood to be on a roadside property.

A police spokesman said: “Officers were called to a concern for a man at a property in Margate Road, Ramsgate.

“He has since been transferred to the care of medical professionals.”
