Detectives issue e-fit of knifeman who robbed a Ramsgate taxi driver

Detectives investigating the robbery of a taxi driver in Ramsgate have issued an e-fit of the alleged suspect.

The driver, in his 30s, had picked up a customer from outside a supermarket at a retail park in Richborough Close, Broadstairs.

He asked to be dropped off in Newington but as the car reached Kimberley Road he threatened the driver with a knife and demanded he hand over his cash.

The cabbie stopped the car and ran away from the man along Kimberley Road to seek help from people.

The knifeman also ran from the taxi down an alleyway which leads to St John Crescent.

When the taxi-driver returned to his taxi he found that two phones, his dashcam and cash had been taken.

It happened at around 3.20pm on Saturday, November 24.

Numerous enquiries have been carried out since the incident and officers have now released an e-fit of the suspect with the help of the victim.

The suspect is described as a white man, approximately 25-30 years old and around 6ft tall. He has light brown hair and a tattoo on the back of his hand.
