Ramsgate: Five car crash in Boundary Road

A car ended up on its roof after five vehicles collided in Ramsgate.

Emergency services are at the scene and Boundary Road has been closed to traffic - after the crash shortly before midday.

One of the cars involved demolished part of a garden wall and the impact of the crash brought a crowd of people out of their homes.

Police said five vehicles were involved in the smash and Boundary Road will remain closed between Chatham Street and Church Road until one of the cars is recovered.

The road has since partially re-opened westbound.

A police spokesman said: "Police officers, Kent Fire and Rescue Service and South East Coast Ambulance Service went to the scene where three people are reporting injuries that are described as minor.

"They are being taken to a local hospital for medical attention."

None of the passengers needed cutting free from the cars and no serious injuries were reported.

A fire service spokesman added: "Crews assisted paramedics with first aid for three people and made the scene safe."

Crews remained at the scene until 12.25pm.

A 32-year-old man from Ramsgate was later arrested on suspicion of driving a motor vehicle unfit through drink.

He has been bailed until Sunday, March 19, pending further inquiries.
