Southeastern trains stopped between Canterbury West and Ramsgate after person hit by train near Minster

A person has been hit by a train near Minster in Thanet.

Services between Ramsgate, Canterbury West and Dover Priory were at a stand while emergency services dealt with the incident.

Southeastern confirmed the news in a tweet saying: "Sadly we have just been informed that a person has been hit by a train, so no trains can run between #Ramsgate and Canterbury West at the moment."

Passengers were held on trains while the emergency services responded.

Investigations are now complete and the rail operator is working to switch the power back on in the area.

Once this is done, trains will be able to run again, however disruption is likely to continue through the evening.

Bus replacement services were in introduced while the incident was ongoing.
