New general manager of the Westwood Cross retail centre is local man Tom Price, from Broadstairs.

With more than 30 years experience managing large retail teams across the UK, he has been selected by Land Securities to head the Westwood Cross team and drive forward the next stage of the retail and leisure park’s development.

He said: “I moved back to Thanet three years ago just when Westwood Cross was opening.

“As a customer and regular visitor, I have watched it grow and flourish – first as a high quality cutting-edge shopping concept and now as a leisure destination with its multi-screen cinema with live satellite screenings alongside box office hits, its casino, bingo opportunities and fine selection of restaurants.”

The growing success of Westwood Cross as a top destination for the whole of east Kent is the result of its commitment to meeting the needs of the modern customer, according to Tom.

“At Westwood Cross there is ample free parking, strong public transport links, a wide range of leading national names and independent shops plus all the leisure facilities for a great day out.”

The former Chatham House Grammar School, Ramsgate, student will be responsible for all aspects of the operations of Westwood Cross.

In his spare time Tom enjoys sport, particularly golf and football, and travel.
