Ramsgate: Pysons Road closed as car ends up on roof at junction of Margate Road

A man has been taken to hospital after a car was left on its roof.

The incident happened just before 10.10am at Pysons Road, Ramsgate, at the junction with Margate Road.

Minister Sue Cox, who was in the nearby St Mark's church at the time, said her daughter witnessed the aftermath of the crash as she was on her way home from work.

She said: "My daughter came past on her way home and she said it had just happened.

"She said she got there just as people were getting out and she asked if they needed any help.

"Pysons Road is closed, the car is still on its roof so they are sending the traffic down Clements Road.

"I can see cars moving on Margate Road but they are still stopping traffic from Pysons Road.

"I live around the corner and there's been a couple of bangs. Somebody went into an electricity box on Allenby Road.

"It's because people are jumping the lights."

Police spokesman Steve Knight said: "Kent Police was called at 10.08am following a two-car collision on Margate Road, Ramsgate, at the junction with Pysons Road.

"One of the cars has overturned and a road closure is currently in place.

"One man has been taken to hospital as a precaution."

The road has since reopened.
