Assault in Athelstan Road, Margate sees man taken to hospital

A man was taken to hospital following a serious assault in Margate.

A 32-year-old has appeared in court after the attack, charged with grievous bodily harm with intent and two counts of criminal damage.

On Sunday, June 25, Kent Police was called to a report a man was assaulted at Athelstan Road at 5.30pm.

Officers attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service and the man was taken to hospital for treatment. Another individual was arrested nearby.

After being charged, Anthony Sayle, 32, of Athelstan Road, Margate, appeared before Folkestone Magistrates' Court today.

He was bailed to appear at Canterbury Crown Court on Monday 31 July.
