Man arrested following suspected hammer attack in Mill Lane in Margate

An arrest has been made after a man suffered a head injury in a suspected hammer attack.

Police were called to a property in Mill Lane, Margate, at about 10.30pm last night to a reported disturbance.

A man in his 40s had received a head injury, believed to be caused by a hammer, which officers seized.

The victim was taken to hospital. His injuries are not believed to be serious.

A 60-year-old man from Margate was arrested, and remains in police custody.
