A rock festival for families and children has been slammed by customers as "a joke".

Families were left angered after claims they were left waiting in long queues, poor food choices, and a lack of attractions for children at Kids Rock Festival.

The event was held at Joss Bay in Broadstairs yesterday , and had bands performing covers from the likes of Queen, Guns N' Roses, Foo Fighters, AC/DC and more.

Tickets cost £15 for children and £10 for adults.

One woman fumed: "To say we are beyond disappointed after today’s festival would be a huge understatement.

"My two children were underwhelmed with the lack of rides and we spent the majority of our time there queuing.

"The event was under staffed and was nothing like the promo video."

'Bit of a joke really...'

While another said: "We've just had to leave as a very hungry toddler cannot wait over two hours for food or drink. What a shambles to stop people taking in food or drink and then not provide enough outlets to serve people."

More than 100 people have commented on Kids Rock Festival's recent social media post asking for an explanation, with many asking for refunds.

An annoyed father commented: "Over priced food, lack of food outlets, overpriced rides. A contactless wristband system that doesn’t work. Bit of a joke really."

However, not everyone agreed with the negative comments.

"We had a really great day with our two girls," one mum said.

"I’ve never been to a festival that doesn’t have queues! Danced our way through the rain and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, will be coming back next year."

While another father added: "My family and I had a great day. We didn't get caught up in any of the queues.

"The kids loved it, they danced their hearts out. Sorry to hear others didn't enjoy it as much as we did."

The event advertised having a walkabout magician, circus performers, funfair, bubble football and cocktail bars at the end.

Organiser for the event have been contacted for comment.
