Thanet District Council's street scene enforcement team were called to the scene yesterday after drivers discovered Park Road, near Birchington Vale Caravan Park, had been made impassible.

The enormous pile includes various household objects including a microwave and a mat that reads 'home sweet home'.

It also includes a large amount of rubble from what appears to be a DIY project, including a smashed up sink and various cuts of wood.

It is believed the load has been dumped by a rogue waste carrier.

A council spokesperson said: "Incidents like this show why you should always choose a reputable waste carrier to dispose of bulky waste.

"If they fly-tip your waste and it can be traced back to you, you could get a fine. When choosing a waste carrier, always ask to see their waste carrier licence issued by the Environment Agency.

"Help us find whoever did this - please email any information you may have about the incident to sse@thanet.gov.uk."
