Flats ‘cordoned off’ as man falls after climbing through window in Margate

A man has been taken to hospital with a leg injury after falling through a window.

Emergency services descended on a block of flats in Goodwin Road in Margate at about 11.15am and a police cordon was put in place.

Lily Montgomery was visiting her daughter and son-in-law who live nearby and said officers taped off part of Wanstead House.

An image shows four police cars and an ambulance parked up while a number of officers can also be seen working.

“The basement was taped off and someone was in the ambulance,” she said.

“Police went into a flat in Wanstead House. There was a high police presence – four cars.”

The emergency services are believed to have left the scene at about 12.30pm.

A police spokesperson said: “A man has fallen after climbing through a window of a property in Godwin Road, Margate, and has been taken to hospital with a leg injury.

“The incident happened at around 11.15am while officers were attending the address to carry out an arrest on behalf of another force.”

Ambulance crews have been contacted for comment.
