Air ambulance called to help boy following accident near Cliff Terrace, Margate

A boy who was hit by a car near to a seafront music venue last night, was taken by air ambulance to a London Hospital.

Paramedics and police were called to the scene of the accident on B2055 Zion Place close to Margate’s Winter Gardens.

Three police cars, two ambulances and an air ambulance were called to help.

A police spokesperson said: “Kent Police was called at around 7.50pm on Wednesday 26 April 2023 to a report of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian.

“Officers and other emergency services attended the scene in Zion Place, where a boy had sustained injuries and was flown by air ambulance to a London hospital.

“The road was closed in order to recover the vehicle but reopened at around 9.25pm.”

The child’s injuries are believed to be serious.

A spokesperson for SEACAMB said: I can confirm that SECAmb was called at approximately 7.45pm yesterday to reports of an road traffic collission involving a car and a pedestrian. Ambulance crews attended and were joined at the scene by the Kent, Surrey, Sussex Air Ambulance Service. The pedestrian was assessed and treated at the scene before being airlifted to hospital in London.
