A pensioner has died after he was involved in a collsion with a bike.

The 70-year-old man had walked into Madeira Walk, Ramsgate to cross the road, when the accident happened at 6.25pm on Friday evening.

Police said a man was riding his black Streamer Racer bike down Madeira Walk, heading towards the seafront, when the man was seen in the road.

The pedal cycle collided with the pensioner. He was taken to King's College hospital in London with serious head injuries, but died overnight.

The bike rider sustained a minor injury.

The Kent Air Ambulance was involved in the incident, landing at Madeira Walk.
