A driver has been seriously injured after crashing into a bus while being chased by police.

The dark-coloured Audi TT reportedly failed to stop for officers in Shottendane Road, Margate, this morning.

Following a short pursuit, the vehicle then collided with a bus in Spitfire Way, Manston, at about 11.30am.

The driver of the Audi suffered serious injuries.

It is not known how many people were on board the bus at the time, or if anyone else was injured.

As the driver was being pursued by police at the time of the crash, the case has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct to look into.
