A total of 48 untaxed and abandoned vehicles have been cleared from Thanet’s streets during the latest round of Operation Cubit.

The roundup took place from May 6 to 9. If owners want to reclaim their vehicles they must pay £200, of which £120 is refundable if tax is bought within two weeks.

Follow-ups will be carried out if the vehicles are not taxed or declared as being off the road.

Operation Cubit involves Thanet council, the police, Kent County Council, the DVLA and Kent Fire and Rescue Service.

Abandoned vehicles can be reported on 01843 577888.
