Man arrested after car reportedly crashes with traffic lights, Ramsgate Road, Margate

A man has been arrested after a car crashed with a set of traffic lights.

It happened a Ramsgate Road, Margate, near the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital, just before 2.15am today.

A police spokesman said: “Kent Police received a report of a single-vehicle collision in Ramsgate Road, Margate.

“It is believed the vehicle collided with a set of traffic lights. ”

The driver and three passengers were taken to hospital as a precaution.

Firefighters from the Margate station were also called to help but were able to leave the incident to police and paramedics.

Only minor injuries were reported.

Police added that a 22-year-old man from Ramsgate was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and was placed in police custody.

Enquiries are ongoing.
