Dad arrested after death of baby in Broadstairs

A man has been arrested in connection with the death of his six-week-old baby.

The 20-year-old is being investigated after McKenzie Ellis died from a head injury.

An inquest into the baby's death was opened at Maidstone's Archbishops Palace and heard he died at London's Kings College Hospital on July 26.

He had been admitted to hospital three days before in a critical condition after the accident in Linley Road, Broadstairs.

Assistant coroner Katrina Hepburn heard the boy's father had told nurses Mckenzie fell from his arms during a feed, suffering fatal injuries.

Ms Hepburn suspended the inquest pending the outcome of the police investigation and any criminal proceedings.
