Miniature donkeys, face painting and a toy stall packed with cute cuddlies were just some of the attractions at the Pilgrims Hospice summer fair.

Johnny Lewis, kmfm breakfast show presenter got the celebrations underway when he opened the fair in Ramsgate Road, Margate, on Saturday morning.

He was joined by hundreds of people, who browsed craft stands, cake stalls and a plant sale and enjoyed a rousing performance from the Thanet Concert Band.

Karen Kenward, regional fundraising manager for the Pilgrims Hospice, said the summer fair raised more than £10,000 – around £2,000 of which came from a raffle.

Tasty barbecue food brought in a further £450, while the coffee shop collected nearly £600.
