Air ambulance called to Ramsgate after suspected drink-driver crashes in Harbour Parade

A man was taken to hospital and arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after a crash near a seafront.

Officers and an air ambulance attended the scene in Harbour Parade, Ramsgate, at about 6pm on Wednesday.

It followed reports of a car colliding with a stationary vehicle.

The area was blocked off while officers dealt with the scene.

A Kent Police spokesperson said: “Kent Police was called to a report of a car colliding with a stationary vehicle in Harbour Parade, Ramsgate.

“Officers attended alongside South East Coast Ambulance Service and a man was taken to a local hospital. He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.”

Enquiries are ongoing and the road has since been reopened.
