The contest had 17 classes including an obstacle race and a Chase Me Charlie high jump. The event’s overall winner was 13-year-old Frances Whittaker from Conyer.

Stables manager Justine Flett said: “The competition was extremely exciting and lots of fun.“For some of the children, it was the first time they’ve ever had the chance to ride in a show.

“They don’t own their own ponies, they ride ours in the show, the ones they’ve learnt to ride on.” Justine said another competition will take place on Tuesday, April 8.

The stables also hosts a fun day, which includes pony rides, lambs and a fun fair, on Easter Bank Holiday, which is Monday, April 21.
