Unprovoked drinks attack on elderly woman

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a 74-year-old woman had drinks poured over her head on a busy Kent street.

The victim was approached by two youths in Mill Way, Sittingbourne, on Sunday. After talking to her for a short time they tipped the contents of their drinks over her head.

As she walked away something was thrown at her, which caused a small cut to her head.

The two offenders are described as white and aged around 16. One was wearing a white jumper.

PC Carli Davis said: "This was an unprovoked attack on a vulnerable elderly lady.

"Mill Way is a busy road and I would urge anyone who witnessed the assault or who has information to contact me as soon as possible."
