Fire crews put out blaze in wood shredding machine in Ridham Dock Road, Sittingbourne

Firefighters put out a blaze which started in a wood shredding machine in the early hours of this morning.

Three crews raced to the industrial building in Ridham Dock Road, Sittingbourne, after the alarm was raised shortly before 3am.

The fire had started inside a machine used to produce wood chippings.

Crews hosed down the flames and cleared the building of smoke before leaving the scene at 3.30am.
