Long delays for drivers after A249 Maidstone-bound carriageway crash

Drivers reported long delays on the A249 today following an accident.

Emergency services were called to the Maidstone-bound carriageway, just before the Stockbury roundabout, at 10.40am to reports of a three-vehicle collision.

The road was partially blocked until after 12.30pm, with some motorists taking nearly an hour to cover just a few miles.

A police spokesman said: "Officers and the South East Coast Ambulance Service attended.

"Two of the vehicles had to be moved by a recovery vehicle."

He added that only minor injuries were sustained by passengers in the accident.
