Brothers Jim and Danny Ward have secured an increased playing budget after pledging their future to Sittingbourne.

Brickies’ joint-bosses will lead the club into their new home at Woodstock Park next season after talks with chairman Andy Spice.

Jim (pictured) said: "We’ve agreed terms with the chairman for next year so unless Manchester United or Chelsea come in, we’re definitely staying.

"We had a half-hour meeting on Saturday. Andy’s a good man and we talked about a lot of things.

"We’ve got a bit more money to play with next season which will give us more of a chance.

"It’s more workable than we’ve had this year and means we have more of an opportunity to speak to players. The chairman’s happy with the job we’ve done, so let’s hope he’s saying the same this time next year.

Back-to-back wins have revived Brickies’ slim Ryman League, Division 1 South play-off hopes with three matches left.

Bourne face away games at Tooting on Saturday and Walton Casuals on Wednesday before hosting Ramsgate on the last day of the season.

Ward said: "We’re a 100/1 shot but if you’d said at the start of the season we’d mathematically have a chance of the play-offs with three games left, we’d have taken that."
