Gary Abbott is desperate for his side to chalk up their fourth consecutive win when they face Ramsgate on Saturday.

Sittingbourne have been enjoying a hot streak in Ryman League Division 1 South and after all their hard work to turn things around, Abbott is keen not to waste it.

The Bourne boss said: "We had a difficult start to the season but now we’re flying. The players are playing with confidence and the mood around the camp is sky high.

"We’ve got to be careful, though. We’ve done tremendously to get to where we are now but if we lose the next three, our last three wins our worthless and we’re back down the bottom. Getting the points while we’re playing well is crucial."

Abbott (pictured) has credited a change in formation from 4-5-1 to 4-4-2 as the reason behind Bourne’s upturn in fortunes.

He added: "There’s no pressure on us this season and it’s a good place to be. We’ve played with one up front in the past but I thought ‘let’s put two up and give it a go.’ It’s worked."

Sittingbourne beat Ramsgate 3-0 earlier this month and Abbott said: "Why can’t we do it again? We need to keep doing what we’re doing and I’ve told the boys not to over complicate things.

"I’ll change nothing from the win at Godalming – the team and the substitutes will be the same – and I just hope they can replicate the performance."
