Fulston Manor pupil Spike Sweeney impresses Wonky Veg Boxes with his video advert

A 12-year-old has impressed a business with a TV ad he created as part of a homework project.

Spike Sweeney, from Fulston Manor School, was asked to come up with an ad for his citizenship class.

He made an 80-second video commercial for Leicester-based company Wonky Veg Boxes, which he chose after talking to his family about how perfect other food is.

The video features an alternative version of People are Strange by The Doors with pictures and animations of vegetables.

His dad Dom decided to send it to the company after being very impressed, who then shared it on Facebook.

It has had almost 2,000 views.

Spike’s citizenship teacher Natasha Norman said: “This is exemplary work and I am so proud of Spike.

“He is only in Year 8 but this is way beyond what I would expect to see at this age. He will be getting top marks for this work.”

This comes only weeks after he won the first Jacob Illahi Creative Writing Competition, bagging himself £500 of Bluewater vouchers and a meeting with a literary agent.
