A249 due to close between Stockbury roundabout and M20 for roadworks

A series of overnight roadworks over more than a fortnight will close one of Kent's busiest routes.

The A249 will be resurfaced Maidstone-bound between Stockbury roundabout and junction 7 of the M20.

The work will be carried out between 8pm and 6am on weekdays from Monday, January 14, until Friday, February 1.

The diversion will be in place via the M20, Blue Bell Hill and the M2.

Improvements are also due to take place on the Sheppey-bound stretch from the M20 roundabout to Stockbury roundabout Sunday, February 3 over 15 nights.

The road will be closed between 8pm and 6am and the same diversion put in place.
